All perfectly legal
Wrong... check it out http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/bulletins/bus-ent/20110323-72-eng.htm.
Mossberg has now fallen into the same boat by using it as a pistol magazine also.
I'm sure your gonna see a lot of vendors trying to unload the mossbergs on unsuspecting buyers and not mentioning the guns now fall under the 10 round law.
For a non-restricted .22LR firearm the magazine could extend down to your ankles and be legal.
For a restricted handgun 10 shot max is the limit regardless of whether the gun is .22LR or any other caliber.
Makes a lot of sense doesn't it?
The page on the RCMP website gives examples only, the do not have to list everyone. Its what the regulation states that you have to worry about in court. And no-where on that page does it mention the 715T. Its a gray area right now. Sooner or later someone will get busted. I have a feeling that we will be on the loosing side of this. Until I see an official bulletin mentioning that the 25rd mag is prohib ... enjoy at will.
PS: You better also inform the CFO's of this too if it is prohib. The CT in Pembroke has one in the display case !!
I can't find it at the time but there is a letter or fact sheet floating around concerning the 715T, yes it's not mentioned in the above link with the BX25 magazine but it very clearly stated those mags are prohibited..it also said the Mossberg claims to not be sending any 25's to Canada.
Of course they are here...but doesn't change the fact they are prohibited. Which of course, is silly as you can put 110rnds in your 10/22 but doesn't have to make sense.
