But I'm in Canada. And at Walmart:Win. 555 @25.99=.053 per rd. after tax. and Win. white box/20 .223@$9.98=.563 per rd. after tax.
So at least at Walmart, you can get good bulk .22LR ammo, almost 10X cheaper than .223. And no pickin' up the freekin' brass!
Will only cost you 500k to bring in some norc 22lr .. and as soon that it is proven not to equal CCI Mini Mags in quality, comments like the above will rule the posts and you may only recover your $ as word of mouth from users who are not making blanket statments decide to give it ia try based on actual experience. I do not know what form of "stink " that weasel1 was refering to , if smell, as opposed to performance, then his comments may not be a blanket statment ( I also have to consider his experience with norc may not be the same as mine and he is not making a blanket statment ) .. I have experience with norc 45apc and .223 .. I have enjoyed saving the funds and bought new toys with those savings
So big investment, and long wait for return .. If the Canadian $ recovers while you are waiting for a complete return, you are already out 20% on that remaining portion .. Canada Ammo said a few years ago that import costs would equal average prices of that day , Norc 22lr would not be surplus ammo .. so if everyone is gouging why would norc be willing to discount .. only on a volume order .. so who is going to take the chance .. anyone have 500k they do not need?
Container load has to be big enough for the carrier to make an exception .. .223 did not stop because there was no more, it stopped as the shipping company would not make the exception of coming to Canada first and not going direct to the US where costs to keep prohibited US import cargo under US control till the ship left port and compleated the loop to Canada, were to great, or something to that effect ... have to go back a few years on the Can Ammo thread.
So maybe for 10 containers they would steam to Canada first .. it is not a full container, they ship by weight .. has to be at least 500k or more .. if not that much it would be close ... who would want to risk ??
Canada Ammo, Marstar et all ... these guys make big investments, that have to pay off. Their operating costs turn on a dime and are subject to client acceptance like any other product .. When Federal Copper Washed returnes to the market place will the lesser brands be bought in volums like they are now .. so this stuff would have to stand very tall .. Folks all jumped on the " Not in Canada " band wagon a few years ago re 22lr shortage .. just like the crowds of old Rome .. the Media is the message .. we get influenced. I was not a listener so I could sell a lot of Federal Copper Washed a be classed as a gouger, but when a CGN'er sells a Winchester 22lr Leaver action NIB for 2K+ when he bought it for $700.00 ( it is on perminent shortage ) is the word gouger overused .. I do not think so ..

If you can still get them at 5 cents a round Id stock up. I bought 7 boxes of 555 this spring at our local walmart.....they no longer have any in stock and am yet to see any walmart with them in stock.
I know things are different up here but Its pretty crazy that guys are willing to buy 22 lr when for a few cents more or possibly equal can shoot a .223
All the power to the guys who have no issue buying expensive ammo....economies need guys like you to work. I know some guys who were buying Varget at $65 a pound..not for me but its good for things with guys who are mindless spenders.

Who says the whole load has to be 22? it can be a part of the overall load that comes in with all the other chinese ammo that is shipped here.
Cheap Chinese ammo is almost always leftover stuff from lots made for the now closed (to China) U.S. market. Any ammo out of China these days will cost as much or more than everything else. Canam has said that many times, I really think he'd know...
Shipping is no longer an issue with Chinese ammo, pricing is. PMC is the same or cheaper, and is perfect, accurate, ammo. The choice was easy.
