I did all my hoarding back when 500 rounds were $18. Now I have a lifetime supply of cheap .22LR.
I got two cartons of Thunderbolts @ $14.99 a brick. At that price, they'll do.

Just saw 50-packs of Blazer at my local CT (Oakville); first they have had of any .22 for more than a year.
They want $4.79 for a pack; Al Flaherty's has it for $2.99.
I guess having it back in stock (they probably had 20 boxes or so) is good, but the price? Not so much.
had and gone, lol
Still lots of minimags for $8.99 per 100 (36g hollowpoint)
My CT has boxes of 555's for $40. Last year they were $26.
I don't think the cost of production has risen that much over the past year; has it?
I left them sitting on the shelf.
This is so CT can put them in the fall flyer for 30% off...

Price is based on perceived rarity and need.
In addition I already have a reasonable stock pile now and will only buy when I see a good deal.
This will eventually drive the prices down or freeze them.
I was looking at the fishing equipment at CT today and I overheard a guy on his cell tell his friend that they had .22lr in stock, he sounded excited...some aguila at 7 or 8 bucks for a little box of 40 rounds, from the conversation, the friend sounded like he was on his way to buy all 20 or so boxes...WHAT A NUT! I kept my mouth shut but boy...that's around 20 cents a round...you don't stock up at prices like that you dodo haha.
I believe the supply is easing up but the pricing isn't..

i put 400 rounds of them through my m&p22 afterwards and they ran flawlessly.
