.22 LR. How many rounds did you shoot in your life?

I would say probably around 500-1k. I don't go to the range often, mostly hunting. Not many empty casings after a day of hunting... maybe 5-10/day.

However, I have just purchased 400 rounds of various CCI/Win models to test out. Going to buy 100 velocitors tonight as well.
 
Been shooting for years but just bought my first .22 in December and put roughly 1000 rounds through it. I like being able to shoot 500 rounds and not having to pay hundreds of dollars. I was used to shooting .45 at $20 a box of 50.
 
I'm 56 now and have been shooting since I was 9. Round count for 22 RF is 527,315 plus or minus 10 rounds.......;)
 
Last year alone I went through 3 bricks Eley, 2 bricks Lapua, about 6 bricks of Blazer, 2 Bricks Remjngton and about 6 boxes bulk with my son. That's about average for me per year over the last 20 years, the previous 15 years I used 22LR I didn't use as much.

I am too lazy to do the math but that's about....200,000?

My .22 round count isn't to high. Probably there abouts 4000, it's to easy to overlook my .22 when I have center fire ammo available, I really want to get back to it and shoot my .22's more though.
 
700 in the last week. Very few in the last 20 years. Maybe 1k before that. New to me SR22 last week; many more downrange in the next few months.
 
I got my own 22 when I was 8. The first 4 or 5 years were not huge volumes, but what I could afford. I am now 68.
Picked berries in the summer, and other fruit in the fall, mainly to feed my 22.

Then, at 13, I got a part time job, and had more money.
I also discovered XELEX explosives [now Higginson's] and cheap 22 rimfire ammo by the case. :eek:
That is when I really started to shoot volumes of 22 ammo.

Also bought a Mossberg 151M semi-auto 22, which ate ammo at a much higher rate than did the old Single shot.
At present, I own 28 22 rimfires.

For several decades now, I have been in the habit of buying 2 or 3 cases at a time.
Surprising how quickly one can go through a case of ammo if you shoot a lot.

Short answer to the OP question....I really have no exact round count, but certainly approaching 400,000 rounds.
If I do not shoot 1000 rounds in a given month, I am disappointed. It's the least expensive way to practice.

Hard to say, used to hunt gophers all summer as a kid. A brick was a decent afternoon back then. Don't get out near as much these days. Good times! Just a guess but 60000 rounds wouldn't be unreasonable. Jeez that's pretty crazy when you think about it.
