.22 LR Pistol... what to buy?

Personally, I like the Ruger MkII 5.5" bull barrel or the MkIII 22/45's. And the GSG 1911 .22lr

And the Colt .22lr conversion unit swapped onto a 1911 .45 frame.

I’ve shot a bunch of .22LR pistols and this one IMO takes the win. One very nice feature is that it fits all my G19 IWB and OWB holsters :D

The frame is OD but my phone didn’t capture the true colours with the crap lighting:

I've got the Colt/Walther 22/45 Rail gun, non-adjustable sights and a picatiny rail as part of the dust cover. Fed good ammo she goes bang every time, all failures have been ammo related, all were failures to fire. Well excluding when I limp wristed her.

Some thoughts. The S&W Victory does look pretty good given the reviews so far.

I've got a Ruger II Target and a Ruger 22/45 III. And a Browning Buckmark. All eat any ammo. Anything. The 22/45 has a lousy grip (small) and it's tough to shoot straight given that. The Buckmark has a better grip which makes for a more stable trigger pull. It's slightly lighter than the Rugers also. The Buckmark has a lighter, crisper trigger which also is better. You can drop a Volquartsen trigger in the Rugers and make those triggers awesome. I've not done that but I've shot Rugers that have had them done. Of those above, the Ruger II is good. Buckmark even better. The Ruger 22/45 III is so/so.

And...I bought a Walter PPQ .22lr recently. 5" barrel. It is without a doubt the most fun of all. I LOVE this gun. Light crisp trigger. VERY light polymer gun overall (which for me at least makes it very easy to hold the pistol rock solid still when aiming). Great groupings. It too eats anything so far after about 2000 rounds. And it looks very cool. Essentially it looks like a Glock.

It's the one both me and my wife fight over when we go to the range. I let her win...grudgingly and I end up shooting the Buckmark. But when I go alone, it's the Walther PPQ. Hope this helps.

Haha I can see that. My wife and I are buying but we haven't decided yet. I'm between an M&P 22 and a 5" PPQ 22. She is between the M&P 22 and the Ruger 22/45 Lite.

If I choose M&P and she goes for 22/45, I can see a scenario of her not liking the 22/45 and asking for my M&P lol

I love my Beretta model 71, picked one up a few years ago when trigger wholesale imported a batch. The Bersa 22-6 looks very similar and can be had for $399.

if you have smaller hands, you may be pleasantly surprised by how nice the Browning 1911-22 is. it's by far my favorite gun to shoot.

however, my Ruger 22/45 Lite is my most accurate. just beware, because the shroud is aluminum and the sight steel, they expand at different rates when they get hot. I had to locktite my sight in place because it was always coming loose.

very frustrating when that happened in the middle of a range day.

Good looking gun. Not sure if I would try to win a pistol silhouette match with it, but I bet it is darn fun to run ammo through!!!
