So me and the boys went shoooting today and I busted out my gsg-15 and loaded a mag and went to fire...it had problems ejecting the casing and loading the next round....was awful shooting it today. My buddies noticed I got long rifle ammo not LR.....is there a difference between the two? I had thought LR was just short for Long Rifle...same ammo! Am I wrong...someone educate me please :( was not a fun day of shooting to say the least. I have 1100 rounds of this stuff.........

If you search the interweb you will find loads of comments regarding Remington (Golden especially) causing problems in semi's with FTF.

I got a deal on a bunch of Thunderbolts and they suck hard in my SIG 1911-22. FTF, duds, etc.

I won't buy any more Remington 22. Will shoot the ones I have left in my bolt action rifle.

It was awful.....it would fire a couple then have a failure to fire....or the asking wouldn’t eject....or it wouldn’t load the next correctly. Super frustrating when you just want to have fun and plink

22's can be very finicky. Even with ammo that has worked in the past, the rifle could be a little dirty, over-oiled, under-oiled, too cold etc. All of these things can affect performance, but it's probably the ammo. Try a few different kinds and see if that tells you anything.

You sir were tricked by your buddies and owe them a similar response. Reminds me of when I worked at the thoroughbred racetrack and we'd send the young guy to find the key for the 1/4 pole or The "blue mist" to put on one of the horses backs to prep em for a race. Some guys would spend hours looking lol.....

Shoot high velocity ammo from your GSG15 I've had success with the federal bulk packs (375&525rd boxes) anything CCI HV etc... do not use Remington, wildcat or Winchester bulk packs... if you bought over 1000rds of standard velocity ammo buy mistake you face a new gun dilemma.. .. what bolt action or revolver do you want to buy?

Just an FYI....
I picked up an STG 44 also by GSG and it shot very well with both Winchester M22 and Federal Automatch.
The M22s are on sale at Cabela's.
