If I recall correctly I sold my mint 999 for around $375 shipped.
I wasn't shooting it much and was basically holding onto it because of it's unique break action but then I found an old Webley trainer .22lr and didn't need two break action .22lr's

$400 max. Keep in mind these guns are out of production, so any break downs requiring a part replacement is a PITA.

I think I paid $200 for mine, which is in serviceable condition but in need of a re-bluing.

Also, keep in mind $550-$650 should get you a pretty decent S&W 17 which is a huge step up in quality, trigger etc.

Yeah, I am definitely keeping that in mind. The problem here is that the more I look at it, the more I want one of each. lol. Gotta buy a lottery ticket...
 
I shot a S&W M18 tonight. A 22 is capable of superb accuracy, so it can force you to try to shoot better. The accuracy will be lost if the gun does not have a fully adjustable rear sight. Whatever you consider, I suggest you insist on a fully adjustable rear sight.
