I guess I'll have to time travel back to the 80's and inform the 3-4 coyotes I killed with a 22 that they weren't supposed to die. Lots of better choices but used within it's limitations it works fine. I guess that's why a lot of farmers use 22's to kill livestock.
What about .17HMR?
Why do people on the interwebz think every question must have an all or nothing answer? Pickles, I don't think most people are saying a .22LR can't kill a coyote. It certainly can (and animals much bigger). But is it the best choice? No. Are they many, many better choices? Yes. Fair enough?
Read the second line of my post.
You do get your panties in a bunch huh?![]()
It was the first line (and I quoted all of your post) that was useless to the discussion.
Oh, relax.![]()
I bow down to Canada's greatest coyote slayer and utmost authority on suitable coyote cartridges..Curious as to how many coyotes you've taken over the years?
I'm practically McDonalds for coyotes: billions and billions of Bergers have been served.![]()
You will kill them most of the time with a .22, it is just that they won't die where you shot them. More than likely, they will day in the next area code.
