Recently received a FX Panthers 700 for Xmas from my wife. I’ve been playing with 33gr HP and sighting it in with a Kahles scope. Experimenting with pressures and speed. They shoot in a tiny hole at 50 yards at 975fps. I bought three types of slugs with all being .218” diameter. I bought some of the Zan ELR coated 34.6 gr and was really disappointed in their terrible performance. Was wondering if anyone has had the same experience. The HN are way cheaper and shoot fantastic so I guess I shouldn’t worry about it. I also have some lighter Nielsen’s that I haven’t tried yet. What are you fellow nutrs finding that works for you ?? Thanks and I’ll give them some testing. What are you running for glass. I’m planning on using it for competitions so basically want to duplicate what my Vudoo is capable of! Good ammo is becoming difficult to aquire so the PCP opens another door..

My bad, it was the M4 Sniper 700, not an M3. As for the optic, I am running a Element Titan 5-25x56 FFP in MRAD. Scope has been outstanding for the last few years. So much so that I just put on an Element Helix 4-16x44 on a Umarex Gauntlet SL30 (haven't had a chance to get this one put thru it's paces yet though).
Mine runs the Javelin's right at 920fps with my setup. I could speed them up, but the gun likes them at that speed.

Well Im definately going to give those Javelins a thorough testing. Good to get a report on the optic as well. Will be looking into that as well. Where did you purchase the Element Titan from?

I have a M4 700mm sniper I purchase this past spring and I have a question about shooting slugs. Did you purchase a dedicated slug barrel or did you use the factory barrel originally shipped with the rifle? Thanks.

Factory barrel. Seems to do fine with the NSA slugs. I may look into another liner in the future if I decide to explore a heavier slug option, but for now it seems to be working great. Like I said above, there has been no issues ringing steel out to 400 and I can probably go a bit further, but the wind sure does stir things up at that distance. You can either have a great day ringing steel or if the wind picks up it'll be a day of watching for the splash in the dirt.

Well I picked up a bunch more slugs at AGS yesterday with a shooting buddy who had his FX gun repaired. Talked about this subject and Travis said slugs in lighter weights will work out of the pellet liners/barrel. If you want to shoot the heavies he recommends getting a slug liner. My buddy is going to try the lighter slugs out of his gun. I also watched a YouTube video and the guy was shooting pellets out of the same rifle as mine and getting impressive accuracy out of a liner designed for slugs. Part way through his review he realized the gun was designed for slugs. Some interesting stuff.

Not seeing your locations, we may meet some days for fun BR shooting?
I have a Impact MK2 originally, but with all the diy internal upgrades I think I can call it MK3.5 :)
I have couple set of liners in .22 and .25 three or four twist rates I believe.
I was shooting/testing .25 slugs @ 100m during covid time, I wasn't really impressed with .25 ZAN so back to MK1/MK2 pellets, as is my setup currently.
Read couple times @ AGN the competition shooters talking about Altaros slugs. Not a business case for me I am a large volume shooter :)
