22 takedown options.

Not sure what you mean by takedown - but the examples you give have hand detachable barrels.
Things like the Marlin 39, Winchester 61 take down, with receiver halves separating.
Another barrel removal takedown rifle is the Marlin Papoose, if you can find one.

Pedersoli Black Widow is a single shot Italian folder in 22LR that will fit in a backpack. Accuracy is supposed to be very good and Marstar currently has them on sale for just under $450.

Also there is the Henry Survival Rifle - Single rifles going ca $400 and a 'Survival' package ca $700. Plenty accurate for it's purpose and one of those 'still in production'. Comes with 2x 8-round mags plus ca 40-rounds storage capability in 'waffle-perforations' of the Butt-stock, for a total ca 50 rounds.

I have both a Belgian made 3rd generation heirloom Browning SA22 and the Ruger/Magpull 10/22 Backpacker.

Love both rifles. The browning is clearly a nicer fancier rifle that is of superior build quality. It’s also completely tool less for tear down for a full cleaning. The Ruger has one bolt to remove and three pins to push out for full cleaning.

But for use with optics the Ruger is a far better platform. And the Ruger is infinitely upgradable.

I will never sell my browning BUT I would trade my Ruger in a heartbeat to get another newer browning with the drilled and tapped barrel for an optic.

I’d also like to try one of the new Savage Revel rifles that’s a take down lever action

There’s also savages A22 take down. Only seen one of those at the range and I think I prefer the Ruger.

Don't know much about a22, what's the pros and cons against the 10/22 td?
the A22 is cheaper, easier to clean and arguably more accurate. (I have only seen ONE video on the accuracy topic and the A22 won but it was not the takedown model)
The A22 has a bolt lock-back device while the 10/22 doesn't.

I have one and would advise anyone against any takedown rifle in Canada. You are not allowed to carry it in your backpack. As such, why give up some accuracy?
The Magpul stock (10/22) and the Magpul style (A22) allows for carrying 3 mags in the stock. Again, in Canada, having a loaded mag attached to the rifle makes that rifle "loaded".

You can't have it in your backpack going into the bush even if it's unloaded?
I like the style of the magpul stock for ease of how it fits into a bag while you can climb around. Shoot. Didn't know this, thanka for the info

that is correct, you can attach the rifle to the backpack but not have it in. There's a thread about that somewhere on CGN.
sure, one can say "who would know" but legally you can't unless you have the proper concealed carry permit.
