22 takedown options.

How does it shoot?
I have a bl22 and a norinco win9422 clone.
I was looking at semis. But if that shoots nice also I might pick one up
To be honest the one I purchased is still on the island waiting to be shipped. (after the holidays)
The gentleman I bought it from said he never had any issue.
There's a few new LD322 'Standard' version listed on some sponsor and other site.

I can't believe a broken apart, unloaded rifle can not be inside a back pack because it is considered a concealed weapon.

Has anyone done that and been charged or is this just posting crap?
and yet every time we go to the range with a R it HAS to be concealed (and locked up 7 ways to Sunday).

Looking for logic is Cdn firearms regulations is a zero sum game.

that is correct, you can attach the rifle to the backpack but not have it in. There's a thread about that somewhere on CGN.
sure, one can say "who would know" but legally you can't unless you have the proper concealed carry permit.
The workaround is to label your bag to show that it contains a gun - stick a big piece of tape saying GUN onto your bag. No longer concealed.

Also there is the Henry Survival Rifle - Single rifles going ca $400 and a 'Survival' package ca $700. Plenty accurate for it's purpose and one of those 'still in production'. Comes with 2x 8-round mags plus ca 40-rounds storage capability in 'waffle-perforations' of the Butt-stock, for a total ca 50 rounds.

Now I feel really dumb. Never realized the single ammo in the stock...any luck making it truly airtight?

I've never tried to make it airtight - I don't kayak or canoe. Prob could put a thin bit of a rubber 'gasket' ( I use "Shoe-Goo" for rubber cementing) into the 'cup' of the buttplate, but then might be too good a seal. It's really a bitxh to get off as it is. I'd hate to need it with one hand damaged  You could prob put a couple wraps of Electric tape or duck tape to seal it instead. As for the single rounds in the butt, I didn't think of it either but when I got it I found it mentioned on RFC. Gotta thank the Yanks for that :D

As long as the ammo is not stored in the mags or back pack I was under the assumption the having the non restricted rifle in a back pack with trigger lock was fine. Aka no different than transporting any rifle in any other style of case.

You just can’t transport in backpack with the ammo from my understanding.

But common sense also dictates. I wouldn’t go down to the grocery store with that back pack on etc.

But transporting my take downs to the gun range trigger locked in a back pack with the mag and or mag tube unloaded and the ammo in a range bag that’s then locked in the tour pack of a motorcycle I believe is fine from anything I can find legally

Most of the single shot Cooeys and Stevens I would consider Take Down with one thumb screw on the bottom of the stock.

Did I miss any??? :)

Solid gun forum answer!

Best one is the Savage A22 takedown. The 25 round bananas actually work, unlike the AR-7 ones. The Savage 64 takedown has straight 29 rounders, but they have tons of problems too.
Aside from the banana mag option, is it better in some way than the 10/22 takedown? I’ve never used or handled the Savage but been curious because it has a similar takedown design to the Ruger which is mechanically superb.

" . . . The 25 round bananas actually work, unlike the AR-7 ones. . . ."
AR-7 doesn't come with any 'banana mag' - are you talking about an aftermarket? My Armalite AR-7 has 7-round and Henry has 2x 8-round mags. And NO Probs with feed from any of them. The Armalite nor Henry don't cycle well with SV but are fine with even cheap HV. I think the recoil springs are too stiff for SV.

Marlin papoose is super light and reliable, good rifle camping, trapping, around the farm.

The factory mags are great , but don’t be tempted by aftermarket promag stuff though, they just shove a spring in a box, call it a magazine and ffck geometry. The high vis sights were sold for a 60 or 795, all the same for marlin rimfires. Light mount was some barrel clamp thing of amazon, was just a couple bucks.

I’ve been tempted to try the savage take down , they look good, if they’re reliable it’s a viable alternative since the papoose is no longer in production,

There was an AR-7 aftermarket "banana mag". Had one. Waste of money.
