if Canada is anything like NZ then .223/5.56mm fmj surplus ammo is like hens teeth.

well the NZ army has upgraded their steyrs to a new model with a faster twist, so all the 55gr ammo has been dumped for the civi market.

its FNH manufactured, reloadable , and at $750 NZ for 1000x round, not too bad. im picking that will be about $400 cdn

Guncity.. while on the expensive side ( even for nz ) . are pretty good and you should be able to talk to the manager ( Tim ) and sort something out, if a bunch of you guys want to get in on it

i dont know about the legalities of shipping in ammo, even if its for personal use and not for sale.
just thought i would let you boys in on the deal

Hmm... we can get 55grain here for under 500/1000 and M855 for about 600, so I don't think it would be worth the hassles at those retail prices. But thanks for the heads up. May be of interest to dealers/distributors.
 
+1 for the dealers/distributors - you can believe that if you're shipping a 40' container full it's not going to be at those rates... interesting to see if this does anything to availability of more "specialty" projectiles too.

It looks like nice M193 spec ammo... I'd certainly buy some if it were available around here. Importing it doesn't seem like a goer though as it's not listed on the NRCAN approved explosives list... in fact, I don't see anything from FN on the list at all...

Bummer...!! but as others have posted it would cost too much to get it here in any case I expect...

Unfortunately, your country allows the police to interpret the law their own way to freely more stuff from cat A to cat E.

At least in Canada, the bureaucracy still doesn't have the guts to be so blatant.
 
Well, with the RCMP gaining direct control of the registry... let's not be too hasty to judge, Mr. Greentips... ;)

They've made some pretty interesting rules since they got their fingers right into the pie. Unilaterally. And without merit.

After clicking around that website, I couldn't help but notice the gold plated AK47 was sold out. Now that's a story I want to hear about... ;)
