.223 coyote load

The Winchester white box 45gr HP's work well for me. Have taken coyotes to just past 300 yards and only one went more then a few steps after being hit. Even though I handload and have bullets from 35gr to 55gr on the shelf, those cheap factory loads are accurate in my M700 ADL and put 'em down fast with little to no pelt damage. I stock up whenever I spot them on sale.

I use 55gr VMAX for all varmints. Blows up gophers real good, and really knocks down coyotes at anything under 300 yards. Pelt damage is a concern for some, It isn't for me. :)

I shoot a cz m1 223 and i found using vihtavouri n530 with the 55gr nosler BT varmint bullets worked great. This load is no screamer though. I am getting 3140 fps out of it. Very accurate for me. With this bullet/speed combination, I found it very fur friendly on coyotes. Any faster and i worried that the bullet may make some destructive exit holes. Other good powders that work are xbr 8208,Varget and H4895.

I used 77gr noslers last year and bought a bunch of 69gf TMK for this year the heavy bullets drop them with atthority and buck the wind better.

60 gr Vmax is a solid choice if your rifle has a faster twist (its a fairly short bullet so its possible you can make it work in a 1 in 12).

5 of us in my group are using 55gr v-max or 55gr nosler varmegedon. Powders are Varget and benchmark. Many, many song dogs have perished to these loads. A 55gr bullet from a .223 has an added bonus of being able to use the military 50/200yrd zero method. Which IMO is the average range the Majority of coyotes are killed from.

As it sounds a 55gr .224 bullet or I guess military 5.56mm if zeroed at 50yrds crosses back over the line of sight at about 200yrds give or take a few yards. This allows the shooter to site in at short range and still be zeroed for target at longer range.

Google it

My BIL and I tested it out, it's not exact but close enough to kill any coyote at 200yrds ( if I remember right 50yrds and 207yrds was dead on zero?)
