223 on the trapline... Bullet help

Despite much deserved respect for the 60 gr Partition, my .224 game bullet of choice is the 45 or 53 gr TSXs; they just work, and both shoot well in my 1:12 CZ. Years ago, I tried the 70 gr Speer in a M-700 .222, and while accuracy was alright, for a game bullet, it was not inspiring. But both accuracy and performance of this bullet increased dramatically in the faster twist barrel when I switched to a Gaillard 1:7 . . . not that the accuracy from a factory tube should be compared to a custom match barrel. As others have said, a dispatching load can be made with almost any bullet over a pinch of fast burning pistol powder providing standard rimfire velocities. An accurate FMJ load is useful should you get a shot at a fox; I've been shooting 50 gr TNTs, in both the .223 and a .222 Magnum, but they have proven pretty harsh on fur, producing baseball sized exits.

Eeh? TT33 carried for protection in Canada? You may wanna keep that to yourself. And if you have an actual wilderness atc. I just have to ask how you got it with such an anemic cartridge

The only pistol I had when I applied for my ATC. Figure it's better than nothing when I'm not able to carry the 12ga pump with slugs.

I was making a load with 800x for the 223 5.5 gr with a 53 gr vmax. Later substituted a 50 gr spire point. Velocity was 1639 with the 53 gr. I started to carry these after finishing a coyote with a full power 223 in the head from 10ft.

Was also using 13 gr 4227 velocity was about 2250 fps. Was using this load for beaver as well.
