223 Reload case failure ???

fingers284, not theory about Lapua brass quality as proved around the world for years by BR(about 100% useage) and other top shooters. Pressure is never exactly equal and there is no doubt to us that ganderite and tiriaq hjve offered expert opinion as to what occured, i.e. irrelevant to brass quality!!

Learn by the experience of others.... you won't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself....

Ganderite is right...Truly words to stay alive by...A saying that the people who taught me to fly drilled home...Equally important on the farm and reloading etc. etc...

That's a bad blown case, glad to see you obviously came out unscathed...I have had partial head separation from reloading brass too many times but the brass still sealed the gas in the chamber...With this type of blow out, there must have been a lot of gas escape from chamber and out of the action...Would you care to elaborate on what you experienced?

This sort of event could cause a guy to flinch for a while I would imagine.
