22lr ammo at canadian tire

The Grandview Vancouver location seems to have plenty of .22 in the cabinet, or at least it was stacked that way. I think CCI std and AE, etc. I couldn't get a price check as there was nobody at the counter and even standing on the bar trying to look over I couldn't make out the numbers. I think I saw a brick or two behind the boxes... Go git em!

Who is buying SuperX wood bricks @ $59.99?????????????????????????
Why on earth would someone spend 12.6 cents a round on bulk ammo?
Fed 525 is still $31.50 a brick

Where are you seeing 525 for $31.50 a brick? I am local to you I'd like to replenish some of my stash since the wife has a 22lr now

I'm with Nova - Where the f@ck are you finding these mysterious fed 525 bricks? At any price?

And the SuperX wood box are not, technically, bulk boxes. They're fancy packaging around a brick of 50 round boxes. Still crap ammo (it IS SuperX after all), but if that's all there is around, that's all there is.

Personally, I'm still working through my stockpile, so I can afford to sit out the bad deals and snipe the good deals when I see them. But a lot of people aren't in that position, and have to take whatever they can get. It's high season for gophers right now around here.

Any CTC that ordered it just got in three varieties of Aguila.

Corp sourced it from Mexico (edit - the ammo was wholesaled by Maurice Sports (which is owned by Canadian Tire Corp) - I don't know if they are the importer or middle man)

It's $6.50/50 rounds for 40 grain lead or 40 grain copper plated. It's 7.50/50 rounds for the sub-sonic stuff - 40 grain lead (think they are all round nose).

We also got a decent sized shipment of Winchester 40 grain hollow points - they are also $6.50/50 rounds.

Welcome to the new prices - partly the dollar and partly the importers adding to the cost since the stuff is scarce.

And no, you have to get it "in store" at a crappy tire that has (minimally) an ammo licence.

Bought some of the standard yesterday in lead RN and plated HV will give it a try ... there is a ELEY "Prime" name on the box so we will see.

Yesterday i was told by the local CT dwarves that the ammo is coming from mexico, because the US "has limited their 22 exports to 2% of factory production.

At my local Canadian Tire;

500 pack of Winchester 22LR for $59.99 (12 cents per round).

My 9mm reloads don't cost much more than that.

From what Ive heard from three different stores is, in Calgary there is one guy who goes to all the CT when they open and buy all the 22lr ammo that comes off the trucks.
Sucks but its true!

That sucks, I haven't seen CT in stock in a long time. WSS was the last 22LR I saw at $28/325 Federal Automatch

I'm seeing 325 Federal Automatch @ $32-38 now. Hand-to-God, I bought two boxes last year, orange sticker still says $19.99!
Yikes!

Do all the ammo trucks have set delivery routes and times for delivery? If so, this fellow in Calgary is doing some effective research it seems...

I bought a crate of Winchester Super X (4000 rounds) last fall in Red Deer. They were expensive but if they are crap, I was fooled by the fancy packaging I guess? I've mentioned before that I never owned a 22lr before last year and had no experience with all these different brands. Someday I may crack that crate, and see if my 10/22 likes them or not I suppose.

I don't recall what they cost but it was more than 8c per round I'm sure.

Yep you got suckered.
Anyone who likes 22lr knows, buy as many different types of ammo as you can and see if you gun likes it.
Buying a whole crate of bulk and not trying it is a gamble.

IIRC, ammo is only available in store, no online orders.

I believe they have a
Shop and pay online and pick up at store. It will be waiting for you at Reception
right after you receive the confirmation email back.
I used that for non-ammo. Never even looked at their ammo inventory if any.

+1

typically you can expect a reasonable quality and much fewer compatibility issues with better quality ammo. my general rule of thumb is that if the rounds come in a tray and are completely separated you can be reasonably sure they are decent quality.

I have yet to see this Agiula on the shelves, but do know there was a container full that was sold to small gun stores, but corporate management decided it was to be all sold to Crappy Tire (sales rep told me this)
there is a second container inbound of this ammo soon.
Where did the rumor about this .22 ammo being corrosive come from?
Just looking for a bit more info before I go and ask my source about this.
Have some experienced some unsatisfactory results aside form a thinner wallet when using this ammo?
What about the 5mm rimfire, I read this company was making it again, but has anyone seen the Augila 5mm ammo on a shelf anywhere?
I see some in the EE for a Brown one per 50 rnds.
Thanks guys,
Rob

I remember when a loaf of bread was 17 cents, a pack of smokes was 23 cents & CIL WhizBang .22 shorts were about 50 cents a box. ;) I suppose it's what ever the buyer is willing to pay.

That said, it is a terrible price for "plinking ammo" there are better deals out there.

Holy crap you must be OLD!!!!
