.22lr at 100 yards

I'm going to pick up a bipod and, eventually, grab a variety of .22lr to test out at 100 yards.

I highly recommend Stingers, Vipers and Yellow Jackets, like I used in my example. A bit pricey for general use, but the extra 400-600 fps from hotter rounds takes a lot of the ammo-induced variables out of the picture, IMO.

Here's one of my best. Savage BTVSS, SK+ ammo, 60 shots at 100 yds.

What the heck - thought I would throw this in. SR-22 at 100m (109 yards) with Mini-Mags and Leupold 1.25-4x VX-R. Nothing special in comparison to some of the others, but I was pretty darn pleased :)

YMMV but findings with standard velocity ammunition refutes this allegation. Subsonic 22LR projectiles are not affected by the transonic shock wave and are less susceptible to wind than super and hypersonic fodder.

this sounds like something I need to test. I'm hoping to buy up a bunch of different types of ammo to see which ones perform better. Of course, I need to put down a few more rounds to practice first.

Johnny Boom, that's excellent from a stock Savage TR.
I have 93FVSS that I've spent a bit of money on and that's pretty good shooting. At 100m I'll get one or two sub 1MOA groups out of five, and the other two or three will be 1.5MOA or so.
You'll get responses from a bunch who will claim sub MOA all day long.
Oddly enough you can never find these people at the range.

Well I havn't taken my new CZ 455 Varmint out to 100, but at 85, 10 shots makes a nice ragged hole with CCI standard velocity ammo. I have found that the CCI standard is the best in most of my target type 22 rifles, and it's relatively cheap at $35/500.

Here's what i got out of my Marlin 795ss yesterday, used a Tasco 3-9x32 scope and CCI Mini Mags, good old homemade post-it note targets Haha. It will shoot better once I get a good bench rest. Thanks for looking.
