.22LR Pistols for Target -- Favourite?

Pistol Silhouette is what I use most of them for. Missing from the Pic is the Drulov 10" with bbl weight.

Long sight radii on the 10" barrels make them extremely accurate. Freestyle I can make a 1.25" group at 15yds Benched I can make a 1.25" group at 50 with a little luck.

In a shooting vise these will make a .770' group at 50m

Here's a classic colt officers model match from 1954 I believe. Probably not as accurate as some of these bullseye guns but it does shoot well that's for sure.

I have been shooting the High Standard Victor for years and if I could shoot as well as the gun I'd be a champion . Only place it ever let me down was when I bought a new mag and didn't get it tuned to the gun .It would jam every couple rounds. At the direction of High Standard I had that done and it is smooth running and deadly accurate again!

Nice-looking Exemplars. I saw one with a 14" barrel at a LGS for about $300; it was in great condition and looked unfired. I bought it and eventually moved it to a CGNer who really wanted one.

I love the long barrels. Extreme handheld accuracy. The Exemplars, are very very good indeed. The others are equal to the Annies for different reasons. The Buckmarks have the best sights of all of them.

There is something about a quality .22lr pistol that cannot be beat. My collection is not quite finished... but close :)

S&W 17-3 for me hands down. Strange... Got a Beretta 71 that prints better than it should though .

Yeah, I have to say that my 17-3 is also way more accurate than I am. Not much point getting into some esoteric Euro gun, when I have trouble seeing past 10 yards as it stands....but sure like my K22.

The most accurate handgun I own is my Ruger Mk.1 5.5" bull barrel. Trigger weight is between 1.5 and 1.75lbs. When my confidence level takes a beating from shooting my Shadow, returning to this always restores me.

I shot this target at 50 meters with no warmups, no practice whatsoever. I was so surprised, I tried it again with the same results.

My go to 22 is a S&W 41,but I also have a Walther GSP 22 and 32 combo.you can find a good 41 in the 700$ range if you look. The GSP is more money, and both firearms shoot equally well

Harry Callahan, that is good shooting. Good on you ! I have the tool ( a Smith 41) but I sure can't shoot that good with it at 25 yards. I shoot targets like that at 15, maybe 20 yards if its a very good day. So I guess I can say for sure that my pistol is more accurate than me.

Thanks Gilbert, that wasn't done by blasting away 10 rounds in 10 seconds tho. Focus, breathe, aim and pull the trigger. 5-7 seconds per shots. Anyone can do it you just need to be patient, practice and practice some more.

And it helps if you wear your prescription so you can see that far too....lol. Good shooting HC. I've done that with my K22 on occasion as well, but as you say it takes the discipline to concentrate on proper shooting form. And wearing my glasses! This is more the kind of shooting I do, 100 rounds of 9mm at 7m using my P226 SSE, doing the 'Mozambique' drill....draw from holster, 2 in the chest, one in the head, rapid fire, holster and repeat. I was a bit disappointed with the 4 flyers, but overall for doing drills with tactical mag changes, pretty happy with that group.
