lol yup. I had a craving for one until I read the latest walther thread on here.


I own a new buckmark but do not recommend one. It seems that there are a lot of bucks out there with the same problem as mine, where the firing pin strikes the empty chamber walls and dents it enough to cause jams. Browning fails to acknowledge this problem and does nothing about it. I'd get a ruger if I were you.

I wasn't necessarily planning on buying today, but I picked up a Browning Buck Mark Camper stainless. The grips, trigger, and action were superior to the Ruger Mark 3. If I could have picked up a Mark 2 back in the day when they were brand new, it might have been that one, but I am pretty happy with my choice. Can't wait to pick it up Monday and go shooting on Wednesday.

Thanks everyone for all of the help and advice. It was a tough choice but in the end, I think this Buck will be great. I'll let you all know.

SFRC, one of the site advertisers, is having a sale and selling the Sig P226 for $589. Check it out if you are buying one. Does anyone know where I can get a magazine for the Browning Buck Mark for cheap?
 
Wholesale sells the mags for $25. I just ordered in a Buckmark Camper stainless URX and a 2nd mag. Im looking forward to shooting it. FYI it is not reccomended that you dry fire the Buckmarks this is what causes the firing pin to "dent the chamber wall". Always use a snap cap or an old fired casing. This is an issue with many rimfire guns and is not a problem with the gun. It is user caused damage from dry firing.

X2 get one...you can upgrade to 9mm later and this gun has better resale value as well.
 
If looks absolutely do not matter, get yourself a Norinco M-93 it shoots pretty much everything you feed it and is a sub $200 gun. But if you do have your mind set on a SIG, I suggest a P226 in .22LR, or the GSG 1911's, or you can try out the CZ Kadet model.

That's the exact model I am getting. I don't think it can be beat for that kind of money either. I already have a couple of snap caps too, as the Buckmark doesn't have the dry-fire safety mechanism that the Rugers have. The Buck will be here in Regina at the end of the month. Where are you located? They were having troubles getting extra mags here.
 
UPDATE- they didn't have the exact BuckMark model I was looking for. They will get some in at the end of the month, and until then, I have to consider whether I want the BuckMark Stainless Camper URX, or a GSG 1911. I have heard a lot of good about the GSG. What do you guys think?
 
just get the GSG. I was in the same boat as you a few months ago and finally the gsg 1911 and i am sure glad I did. Fantastic .22 pistol. Right out of the box this thing shot great. Out of a full 525 box of federals I only had 7 fte. I think this is pretty good for a brand new .22 pistol. and the accuracy is awesome at 25y.

I have a SIG 220 Classic .22. If I had handled it first, I wouldn't have ordered it, but that's only my opinion. Too light and bulky, seems like it's made of nylon and plastic. I'm not a SIG fan.

I've shoot both the mosquito and classic .22lr. Get the p226 classic .22lr. It is made by Sig and you can get the conversion kits for it after. It's a full size gun like the other 226s. The mosquito is smaller and is made by another company under sig's name. Save the extra money and get the P226 classic .22lr. It is bang on accurate and worth it. I use a p226 9mm and am in the process of buying the .22lr classic. Perfect gun to practice and transfer the skills over to cuz its the same size frame.
 
I have a Beretta U22 Neos and a Rossi revolver. Both of them are excellent shooters and have been reliable with all types of ammo I have put through them. Mind you none of the ammo has been the sub-sonic or exotic target variety. The Beretta has got to be the easiest 22LR pistol to clean and takedown.
