22LR shortage - what's going on?

There's lots of 22lr here we are just are not in a panick mode like the usa, just ask the jerk with a want to sell add up for 6 cases of mini mags for the low price of way more than there worth. Hint take your time buy at a good price once you pay to much they will always want more of your hard earned money.

Everytime I go to Cabelas or Wholesale sports they seem to have ammo. It seems to have crept up in price a little over the last year, but Cabelas had the 525 pack of Federal for $26 or so.

Not bad considering I bought a box of Lapua for $21/100 rds.

Walmart and CT have been out for 6+ months here. Wholesale in nanaimo gets it in fits and spurts. Gone fishin' here and Island outfitters in Victoria has a little CCI... Slim pickings.

CT is getting Federal Bulk packs and Winchester Dynapoint GT's in stock. Also have Thunderbolts at a higher price then the two I already mentioned.

The Federal I bought was inconsistent but those Dynapoints were outshooting Mini Mags in every rifle I tried them in. They don't seem to like the ejector on the MKII and they did have more ftf then any of the ammo I've ever shot. I'll still buy it though.

There is a good supply of 22LR ammo in my area. There also seem to be plenty of CCI 22WMR ammo in a good variety but I have not seen Federal 22WMR ammo in the past ~6-8 months. Has anyone been able to find any?

my lgs in Vancouver had a very limited supply of cci mini mags, i bought what i could afford and they said there suppliers wouldn't be able to fulfill there orders till august for all the 22lr they carry....

I have been finding that the CT's are stocking up now with Federal and Winchester bulk. Shooters Choice is Kitchener has a fairly good selection including CCI and Winchester bulk (M-22 1000 packs as well).

I bought a brick of CCI Mini Mag for $36.00. I'm definitely ok with that.

So last week I bought some CCI mini mag bulk packs at the CT in Espanola and the guy that worked there mentioned that is was going to be a rough summer for ammo, not the usual supply. Yesterday, I went to the CT in Chelmsford on my way to work and bought 2 525 boxes of Federal, the girl there tells me that what they have in stock now, is all they are going to get for the next two years! She tells me the store manager just got back from a meeting with the higher ups with CT and that's what they were told. BS or not? I don't know, but I'm going back today to buy more, just in case!

It it appears that the biggest problem is that retailers do not seem to know when they are going to be re-supplied from the distributors , so it has become hit or miss....no one seems to know the real story.....one day , there is 22 ammo everywhere.....two weeks later , nothing can be found.....then the cycle repeats itself.....
