unless your set on a .22 look at the 17hmr it works awsome on gophers and my only slightly modfied marlin will shoot a 5 shot group within a dime at 50 yards and sub gopher out at 230yards.( prob father just havnt reached past that yet)

I hit a 2L milk jug size rock at 275 3 hits in a row this spring. Amazing little round. It was with a Savage 93 thumbhole.

SSGP2,
I have the same rifle (7-4) and want to put a scope on it as you have yours. What rail did you put on the gun? I'm trying to find something that will work with that narrow sized rail that came with the rifle.
Thanks,
PrimerPete

Nine, that is a very nice gun.
If you don't mind, what is it and what did you add on it ?
Thanks.

Ruger 10/22. Butler creek 'feather weight' combo, bushnell trophy red dot. I buffed the paint off the receiver, then did the receiver and barrel with 320 grit water proof sand paper. The only other mods are a hex bolt(action screw), bolt buffer, and polished the guts of the trigger assembly.

Nay sayers may nay nay the butler creek carbon fiber (actually a polymer wrap) but I freak'n love it at would do it all over again. Over 7 years and counting.

He had the rail custom made... If you go over Rimfirecentral, there's quite a few treads about scope mounting option of the BB.

Mike.
