I have the mark II FVT, same as the mkI only a repeater that comes with a 5 round mag.
It is insanely accurate! I like the martini's also, but they are really a one trick pony and to get one in great condition will cost you. That, and they are only single shot and can't be scoped easily. I spent a couple years tinkering with them before deciding to sell the last one I had and bought the savage... I couldn't be happier.
The sights are very good for the price and are the Williams FP TK in the rear with a .50x1" aperture disk, and a Williams globe front which comes with 8 interchangeable inserts. It will accept other sights such as lyman etc via the rail on the receiver, and the front can be swapped for other front sights also. It is also drilled and tapped for scope bases if you want to swap them out for a scope.
The barrel on mine is extremely nice. Super bright bore that slugged perfect, nice tight chamber.
Only down side is the crappy stock!! Expect to add a cheek riser or swap the stock out for a boyds. Otherwise, you are paying for an exceptional barreled action and great target sights.
Here is mine with a homemade cheek riser, and a couple groups shot with it.
This sight block is also dovetailed into the barrel giving you multiple aftermarket options
Here is the first 5 rounds i ever put through it. 25m CCI standard.
Here is 9+1 flyer, 50m
50 rounds at 50m, it really likes the CCI standard velocity ammo. Eley is even better.
