234 Wildcat Family....ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

I thought it would be a neat platform to shoot the . 45 subsonic. Didnt know all the ins and outs. Sheesh! Tough place...

Well I was TRYING to put a smiley face with my last comment but the thread would not let me.............;)

OK it worked this time.

Doug

Another thanks is in order for another donation to the 23 project. Thank you much d4dave1
My 23 cal drills are in hand as well as lube tubes for drilling, reamers not long to follow.........

Are you talking barrel reamers, or chamber reamers?
What are the specs of the chamber reamers, and from who?

Marshal, I'm talking barrel reamers...........chambering reamers will come from PT&G but I haven't sent any drawings yet. I will be ordering the 23 X 55 Reamer but the rest will all be done with an upsized pilot on 22 cal reamers and then neck and throated with one of four N&Ts that I will be ordering. I'm going with two different leade lengths and 2 different neck thicknesses.

Arrgggghhhh!!! Another new cartridge I need to try, and no probability of anybody in Canada having one of these any time soon, I guess..............

Focus buddy......focus. This is the 23 cal thought bubble one crazy idea at a time. And on that I hope you get a 23 cal rifle or 3 out of this so I can horse trade one away from you down the road! :p

c-fbmi, again good on you for keeping the flame going on this. Real good fun this project always great to check back and see how its all going.

Always thought recreating the 6mm Lee would be slick, this is damn near it.

Bullet diameter 0.236 in (6.0 mm)
Neck diameter .278 in (7.1 mm)
Shoulder diameter .402 in (10.2 mm)
Base diameter .445 in (11.3 mm)
Rim diameter .448 in (11.4 mm)

The .23 cal 6mm Lee Navy: It has a lovely, long necked case too. :) On modern powders, in modern actions, it should step up a good notch from this century old data.

Bullet weight Velocity Energy

75 gr (5 g) 3,300 ft/s (1,000 m/s) 1,809 ft·lbf (2,453 J)

100 gr (6 g) 2,680 ft/s (820 m/s) 1,595 ft·lbf (2,163 J)

112 gr (7 g) 2,650 ft/s (810 m/s) 1,895 ft·lbf (2,569 J)

112gr (7.3g) 2,560 ft/s (780 m/s) 1,629 ft·lbf (2,209 J)

Hey Ardent, the family will be bracketing the Lee Navy case, which I'm sure a lot more people are going to recognize as the 220 Swift...........could very easily be done on the Navy/Swift case though. With one on the 250 Sav case and one on the 243 case I'm not really seeing a need for one on the Swift case though, being the odd duck it is.

My how time flies, a year & a half already? I have dies in hand as of yesterday. So samples are made and will be in the mail to Doug this Friday.
I just grabbed some of what I had on hand for jackets & made 100gr FB, 90gr ULD & 90gr RBT
there is lots of room to go up to 110+gr with other jackets or down to 80ish, but I'm kinda swamped right now.

Now what?
