234 Wildcat Family....ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Lol..... a "wee wagner" would be awesome.....

Douglas.... have you done anything with a newer rem action? Or just the older models?... all of my rems are older stock... I recently had an sps in my hands and it just felt junky to me with a clunky action.... I wonder if the metal quality has gone down even on the higher end models.....

Douglas:
Again, a Remington comes to mind as, for no specific reason, I've never owned one. Just thought it might be time to correct that. My favorite bolt action rifle has always been and still is the Schultz & Larsen.

There is a couple for sale on the EE right now Johnn............You could always settle for a Husqvarna actioned 230 Moose....

Message to all who would like to have a long actioned 23 caliber rifle built.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE buy a 270 Win donor rifle.........
they will feed better than any other long action caliber donor !!!

1:03 into the video he is holding a what is supposed to be a x bolt barrel ..... it looks like a regular barrel with threads to me .

YES!!!...thank you burnt_servo!

I attempted to relocate the article I read from my Google search that indicated otherwise but was unable to re-locate it. Not that it matters anyway because the barrel in the video link you attached very plainly shows threads!

So I am back to purchasing a Browning X bolt in 22-250 (or .223?) as a donor rifle for a 230 Lynx. My world is right again...lol

I owe you a drink of your favourite "poison" if we ever meet in person burnt_servo!

And, if I am to intrepret Douglas's comment correctly, I am to purchase an X bolt in .270 for a 230 Penguin....

"Honest dear, Douglas said I HAD to purchase this .270. I really had no choice in the matter. I KNOW I already have a .270 but it is a Ruger and this one HAS to be a Browning. Ask Douglas!! No Hon, a Remlington simply won't do as Looky said something about it becoming a splinter under my nail and you know how I hate pain."

LOL...sorry...I can be such an ass sometimes.
Thanks for your help and patience,
Regards,
Dave.

I certainly did, that way we should get a few more 270s off the street and out of the game fields..........I didn't advocate shooting it I'm saying we'll knock the barrel off, getting rid of another 270, and make a 234 of some kind on it.

d4dave1..."envisions c-fbmi's back yard fence with all the posts being inverted steel barrels pounded into the ground with a sledge hammer and all of them oddly having similar .277 diameter holes in the center and a large guy with a 'stache and a black hat swinging an eight pound sledge and laughing manically".

Ohhh...the Horror...the Horror...
Dave.

The .277 happens to be my Favorite Caliber, I would wager that ballisticly MY 270s will be the pants off your .264s...... Bets?

I believe I have said multiple times that it is just the caliber I have decided to hate for no good ballistic reason........opinions can be irrational, that's the luxury of opinions..........:D:D

before you buy a xbolt , do a little more research , I have read some pretty wild things about it in other forums lately , everything from it causing cancer to it curing cancer , and everything in between .

I think the new brownings are real pretty rifles , but they maybe difficult to work on , and this is based on nothing more than internet rumour .

If it is Internet rumour, it must be true!
