OK I must have been off my meds or something, have at 'er, lads.

I am beginning to convince myself that the "Douglas" will be the keeper out of this family - but I do want to test-drive all of them in due time.

I think I feel a lathe day coming on..............gotta get my new grinder set up and bolted down, need to grind a bunch of new bits as I bought all new tooling with the lathe. New dial gauges, new HSS bits, new carbide bits, new boing bars...........well you get the idea, everything new.
Also need to get one of my new 8" vices set up to use and get it bolted to a bench, to hold my barrel vice.................now I'm depressed............so much to do...........

Can't a 22 250 do 4000 ? Thought I seen it on that white box stuff ... That's why I fingered that the moose oughta do something close to 4 and some zeros

;)As my Sierra manual is close at hand, in it for the 22-250, they have listings of 4000 f/sec using a 45gr SBT. The test firearm was a Rem 700, 1 - 14" twist and a suggested 1 - 8" twist to use with 60 & 80gr bullets.

Well, the way I see it, unless you build a .177 on the .460 weatherby ... or a .358 on the hornet .. it's all been done before in the whacky world of wildcats.
So what the hey?.
Doesn't change the fact that this thread has brought me closer to lusting for a sub-6.5mm than I've been before.
Stick it out for the joy of doing your own thing Douglas.
I want a penguin some day to play with.

The 6.5/06 is toasted at 1000 rounds, so a barrel and some dies is all it will take to realize my next fancy. :)

I have no intention of bailing, cause nobody has done it on a X55 case, in all likelihood or the 284 case so...............onwards and upwards Gentlemen..........

Marshal just does that to pi$$ on my parade, he's like that I hear............:p;):D

Piss on your parade?? How so? I didn't get them to make
23 cal barrels. They've been around since the 60s

He's like that I heard!:mad::mad::mad:

Just joking around with ya Marshal, bringing up all these OTHER 23 cal barrel makers.............no offence intended. I know full well the caliber has been around since the middle fifties actually.........just wasn't aware that so many people were STILL making barrels in it. C'mon now, I gotta blame somebody for my lack of research.........:redface::redface:
