The 6mm-280 Imp with a 26 inch barrel was getting over 3300 f/s with 100 grain bullets and close to 4000 f/s with 60 grain bullets... 3400 f/s and 4100 f/s were pretty warm...

Stick a belt on a 30-06 case and then use a 9 or 10 twist?

My main coyote rifle is a 2506 and im slowly working on getting a 250 savage so the 6mm isnt a priority. Since itll just be more or less for fun i might as well go interesting lol. Seems alot of love for the 240wby and the odd belted haters.
Has anyone ever used the 244 holland? Seems with slow powders and a long pipe it may exceed the 240wby.

The wby seems likely the course ill take as it seems interesting enough and should be great for mangy coyotes

run the downrange numbers of a 100gr Norma soft point (BC .302) at 3200 fps, compare it so some other stuff. 240 doesn't look very good

You’d have to put the same bullet in your “other stuff”. It’s silly to condemn a cartridge on a poor bullet choice.
