243 for brush hunting?

Thats my concern, I will be putting a red dot sight on it

A low mounted scope is perfect on my BLR 358, my BLR 308 still has a red dot mounted for my father as his eyesight and mobility is quite poor... personally I don't like red dots on a big game rifle.

Thanks Hoyt, I will try low set of bases and see how it works out.

I got out shooting my BLR straight stock in 308 with a Bushnell TRS25 and I think I can get used to the stock with very little effort. Looks like I will be dogging the woods with the 308 instead of the 243 next fall.

Good plan ,as fun as a 243 is the 308 give you more options hunting

I shot the 243 today and decided to try the 95gr federal fusion and was surprised. The federal fusion is a tack driver out of my BLR
