Now that you have thrown that in Thread - a 223 Rem would be the BEST Bet ! RJNo that's why I'm looking at either one. I own many high Caliber rifles just want a fun plinker. And something for my boys to learn on when they are old enough as well

I luv my 22-250. But get a 243. That way you can always hunt with it.I am considering getting a small Caliber rifle for coyte hunting and for just some fun at the range without blowing out my shoulder. What do you guys think would be the better Caliber.
Better yet get a 6.5 creedmoor.I am considering getting a small Caliber rifle for coyte hunting and for just some fun at the range without blowing out my shoulder. What do you guys think would be the better Caliber.
I just bought a 7PRC. Better safe than sorry. Was easier to just own a 22 Hornet, 22-250 , 243 and 6.5 mm so have all avenues covered . Oh ans 223. But last coyote I shot was with a 22 long
.223 Rem, factory ammo is relatively cheap still. If you reload .223 is more affordable, smaller powder charges and cheaper small rifle primers and bullets aren’t expensive. Easy shooting and won’t burn barrels like .243 or .22-250.No that's why I'm looking at either one. I own many high Caliber rifles just want a fun plinker. Sylvesters Source for Sports has one.The two best common coyote cartridges out there IMO. I use .22 250 and 50g soft grain. .243 bucks the wind a bit better but is louder and has more muzzle jump.
.22creedmor has my eye, If i see a gun chambered in that I like I may make the switch.
Thread drift- it's real! LOLas usual a question specific to a topic is taken over with answers that have nothing to do with the question
243 would be a better calibre on all levels 55 gr bullets up to 100 gr if wanting to really get into taking yotes out to 400-600 yds
