Can anyone give me the ballistic differences between the 25-06 AI. and the 257 WBY, IE 120gr = fps for each cartridge.

What are your clients getting with the AI? I was getting 3950fps with 75gr Barnes X, just under 3600fps with 100gr Partitions and I never chronographed the 120's. All from a Stainless Synthetic Mk. V with a 26" tube.
I know one guy well and he loads his 100gr at 3550 with no pressure signs.
Of course, its not difficult to get a 25/06 to 3350 with 100gr. Add the AI and the 2" of barrel and its not really that impressive?
IMHO 3350fps with a .25-06 is really cooking. 2" in the barrel, maybe an extra30-50fps; so you are looking at another +150fps over that. I'm impressed.

I'm not one for quoting manuals but my nosler manual says a 25/06 will get to about 3350+/- a few with three different loads. I haven't chrono'ed my 25/06 loads.![]()
Actually with a cartridge producing that kind of velocity,it is normal for 2" of barrel to make a difference of 60fps to 80fps.
Even with such a (relatively) small charge? What would amax charge of fairly slow powder be? About 60 gr or so I'd guess.
257wby mag hands down. you mignt pay more for brass but you save on custom dies and money spent fireforming with the 25-06ai.
It will however, easily get 100 gr bullets waaaaaay beyond 3500 fps with a 24" barrel and still get good case life!
