I have used 25-06 for 20 years on varmits from 87gr to 120 gr hp on foxes and ground hogs. I found the jackets to thin on the 87 gr for really cold weather and some times the bullets fragged in the air I was driving them too fast according to speer for the temperature. the 100 hp gr factory and reloads stayed together and would cut most foxes in half if hit in chest area, Switched to Horandy Premium117 gr and the bullets didn't expand as quickly and therfore would be better on thin skinned varmits you want the hide of .I think if you use a load for larger game 117-120gr sp you'll do a lot less damage on the hides.
