I've used the windage adjustable rear/quarter turn front bases almost exclusively forever. Forever to me is about 30 years. I've never had one even loosen off nevermind fail. I've always wondered if a longrange shooter used non-adjustable rings, how could they ever maximize their elevation clicks? Because the farther the windage turret turns to originally zero a scope, the less accurate the elevation clicks become. It's a physical fact of all scopes with tubular shaped erectors.
20, 25 MOA one piece rails..and using scopes with lots of elevation..that are repeatable..

; a post-1964 push-feed M70 Win in .25-06 with a Redfield Widefield 3-9x in a Leupold 1 piece bridge mount. It's a MOA or better shooter and has been ticking away since first set up back in 1977. I also confess to having 5 other trouble free rifles with these treacherous scope mounts. It's a good thing that the deer don't read these forums, otherwise they would be thumbing their noses at me.
