So it appears that the 25 Cal 110 Accubonds are becoming unobtanium, at least until Nosler descides to do another run. So I am looking at viable alternatives. Does anyone have experience with the 110 ELD-X particularily at 25-06 velocities? How do they perform on game?

Thanks for the input.

I think they would be fine through the ribs but would get some nozler partitions if you want as good as you can get , theirs always a trade off

PS - I think the same way of the accubond S to a lesser degree

I have shot deer with the sst in 7mm mag ( through the ribs ) explosive results !!
And have a friend with a 6.5 creed that he has shot deer with the elds but only last year and not many animals to go by but they died when shot in the right spot

ELD's are very explosive, prone to coming unglued when bone is hit. Very accurate bullets, and affordable to shoot.

I've used them in my 257 Roberts, which is in a Rem700 action at velocities very close to mid range 25-06 velocities, on DEER. They will smash a shoulder but don't make it into the offside shoulder. This put the two White Tails I shot with them down. The first one was at 45 yards and moving but not fast, so I led him a bit to much and hit him on the point of his inside shoulder. He went down immediately and got right back up again. They can sure run hard on three legs. About a hundred yards he stopped to assess what had happened and presented me with a perfect broad side standing shot that was easy to make. The second bullet went through ribs on both sides, took out both lungs and shattered the arteries just under the spine. The first bullet retained about 20% of its weight but the rest was completely fragmented.

The second Deer was facing me head first and about 225 yards out. My rifle is sighted for 200 yard point of aim/impact. The bullet went through its throat, hit the spine right where the neck meets the back. There was a gaping 2inch exit hole right at the juncture of the neck/shoulder. The vertebrae was completely blown away. As with all such shots, the Deer dropped instantly and stayed down. One of the fragments, not sure if it was bone or bullet jacket cut one of the main arteries to the brain and there was blood all over it.

I won't be using those excellent/accurate bullets on anything larger than a coyote again. I,ve switched to to the Barne's TTSX monolithics.

Try annealing an sst bullet. In my 2506 they shoot better than their newer counterpart and hold together better

Swift scirroco 2 bullets are a great choice but pricey. Ive gone back to 117gr btsp interlocks. Cheap and very predictable and they work

I have a 257 Weatherby, and after doing some tests, I have decided to stay right away from
the ELD-X bullets. They disintegrate far too easily. I have pretty well settled on the 115 Partition
for game. I have a few A-Frames, but have not tried them yet...they will work great if I
can get them to shoot well. Dave.

Hornady bullets are not designed for high velocity close range work.. look at the name of the bullet.. same with bergers... extended range = thin jacket ,expanding core with no bonding..
Great further out...
Any how, like my TSX.. TTSX out of my 257...
Try the 100 gr bullets.....
Nice combination of speed and penetration...
Really like the 85 gr for coyotes..... laser beam

Hornady make a 75 gr V max also... 257 WM ???? 25.06 ? Such a short bullet.
Not sure how a short bullets would take , all that jump into the rifling,, probably better of to leave it for the 250- 3000..

Be fun to try though..
75 gr at 4000 feet .... food for thought

I had a sako HB in 25-06 and it grouped the 75 gr Vmax fantastic at 300 yards

I have been using the 115 NBT for some time in various .257 Robert's rifles and between my kids and I, have taken several deer with that combo... the bullets hold together very well and the net effects were basically indistinguishable from a .308 with 150 kill.
