25 Yard Freestyle Accuracy.....let's play a game.

Another newbie attempting his hand!

I definitly think this should be a Sticky btw. I think it is excellent practice to try this a few times every visit to the range. I know I'm going to try a couple rounds each time! Why not!? :)

So... not sure if I'm being too generous with myself calling it a 90. Would you guys mark it an 89?

"Mark that frame an 8 smokey, and you enter a world of pain!"

Oh! Used an STI Spartan 9mm shooting 115gr Campros over 4.5 grains of Winchester 231, federal primers

Could someone confirm if My and Luckey's targets above are "zoomed" in?

I want to give this another go... But I want to make sure I'm doing this right :)

Cheers,

Trev

By the way, nice shootin Luckey

If the 8 ring is 8" across, Its correct. Zoomed out ones will show the 7 in the 7 ring. And the 8 ring will be like 7.5"

I know mine is up to spec because I did pay attention to the size as I made them. Also keep in mind that I am shooting it from 27 yards, further than 25 yards as required. See the measurements

With my HK P30L 40S&W today @ 25 meters.

I think this should be 93 with 1X because according to the NRA rule book, scoring is using the leaded edge, not the inner hole itself.

Looks like I am only one still having fun with this lately. Last 25-meter newbie left standing? Lol...

anyway, another fun but short day @ range with my biggest calibers. 357mag/44spl/44mag to try out my hand loads with HS-6. Very happy with the ammo, my skills are holding the ammos/guns back.
like before, all @ 25 meters, two-hand hold, all SA.

first up, 629 4.2" Canadian with 240gr campro in front of 8.2gr HS-6

then, 627 PC with 158gr campro in front of 8.6gr HS-6

at last, 629 4.2" Canadian with 240gr campro, 12gr HS-6.

another day, another great progress and my best score yet! :)

first up, lovely SR1911. 97 3X

then PPQ M2 5" with $20 red dot from ebay. didn't really help with accuracy, but did help the shooting speed.

thanks. never late to the party. :)

Did you get the PPQ Q5 match or the M2? Accuracy wise, I think they should be the same, I do like the look on the Q5 match. If not because I already have M2, I will get that one in a heartbeat.

^^ very nice Luckey!

Sorry I've been slacking! I'll try again on my next range visit...my PPQ arrives today!!

Wasn't planning on posting these but what the heck (one target only has 8 shots).

I will have to try this soon...however I'm not sure I'm a good enough shot to hit much at the 25 yard line yet.

10 yards and most of my shots are within a 6" circle...

maybe we can make a 10 yard thread for the newbies?
