260, 6.5x55, or 6.5 creedmore

I'm thinking of a new rifle as a bench toy for myself and in a few years, as a first rifle for my oldest. Out of the 3, which would you choose? Rifle will probably be a tikka. I'm leaning towards the 6.5x55 right now.

They are all the same other than being 100-200 fps difference of each other. Flip a 3 sided coin and see what one turns up

Ja vi elsker ... :)

Swdes and Norwegians do really have a love/hate relationship. Probably rooted in the union times and the "theft" of sections of Norway. :)

I've got family and friends on both sides. I've heard it all. But I do admit that Sweden REALLY #### the bed in WWII. Not helping the Norwegians against Germany or the Finns against Russia. What a bunch of pussies. But my brother moved back over there so I've got a line on cheap snus! Life is good.

6.5x55, no contest.
It has been around forever and will be around forever.
My T3 varmint works just fine with factory hunting ammo and my M96 works amazing with handloads, perhaps I should mention it still has the stepped barrel...
In twenty years will the 260 still shine? Will the 6.5 CM be alive?
Most new cartridges do not survive and currently the 6.5 is at an all time high in popularity in North America so who will survive? Lots of old 6.5x55's that will need to be fed...
As far as I know they are all a good choice but I chose the Swede.

I keep looking at the mini actions and 6.5 Grendel as a candidate for a featherweight hunting rifle
Put a light barrel and a light rifle stock and you would have a dandy hunting rifle for packing around all day !
