Last summer I did a penetration and expansion bullet test for my .35 Whelen. I shot 4 different type of .35 bullet in wet newspaper and measured the penetration, retain weight and expanded diameter. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90368&highlight=Whelen
I'm planning of doing the same thing for my other favorite caliber, my 6.5X55. I have some 120gr TSX, 130gr TSX, 140gr Hornady SP and 140gr Honady SST. I was thinking it would be nice to have a broader sample of bullets to test and compare but don't want to spend a fortune to buy a box of every bullet out there only to test a few.
Now I know there is a lot of fans of the 6.5X55 and .260 Rem on this board. I was thinking if you 6.5/.260 fans would like me to test your favorite bullet and compare with the others, you could send me a few bullets. I would make a big 6.5 bullet test and post the result with pics on how each bullet compared to each other.
I would supply the the powder, case and primer, all you have to do is send me 5 bullet (I would shoot 3 bullets for representation, 2 spares in case of mishap). You could also send some factory rounds if it's what you use. Anybody interested in collaborating?
