264 win mag twist rate

From the Sierra Infinity Suite:

264 Winchester Magnum
Primer: Remington 9 1/2M Test Firearm: Winchester M70
Case: Winchester BBL Length: 24"
Twist: 1x9" Trim-to Length: 2.490"
Bullets:
#1730 6.5 mm/.264 Caliber (.264) 140 gr. SBT OAL 3.340
#1740 6.5 mm/.264 Caliber (.264) 140 gr. HPBT Match OAL 3.340
#1742 6.5 mm/.264 Caliber (.264) 142 gr. HPBT Match OAL 3.340

I don't think it will make much difference.
That is a good bullet, try it. The increased velocity may be a match.
If you weren't going to shoot the 142 grain ELD-X what would you use.

I was able to stabilize 140 bergers in a 9 twist sendero but never took it far enough out or in cold enough temps though to see if there was much of a loss in bc. Those also state 1-8 twist

I can tell you that you won't have any stability problems with 142s and the 1-9 in the 264 WM, 26 Nosler or 6.5X300 Wby, they will shoot just fine. In a 6.5 CM, 260 or 6.5X55 you may have problems but adding 3-500 fps makes a world of difference. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to use these in my 264 WM.

I'm going to try them ( ELD-X 143 ) and I'm going to try the Nosler LRAB 142, they have it in their reloading book tested with a 1-9 twist. 3000-3100 fps will be fast enough.
It will be fun. Be one hell of a deer gun. :)
Thanks guys!

If my gun doesn't like them I was going to shoot 140gr Nosler Partitions or 140gr Nosler Accubonds @3000-3100. I have Mule deer, Whitetails, Elk, Moose and Rocky Mountain Bighorn here so the 140 is good if I bump into one of them. I have a 358 Norma Magnum with 250gr Partitions for the bigger stuff but if I'm deer hunting then I can take and elk or moose in a pinch with the 264WM.
