270 vs 30-06

It's baaaack, the thread that refuses to die. I can't beleive you all neglected this thread for an entire year. :runaway:

I always remember this thread with a laugh when I think about the fact that Gatehouse did eventually buy a 30/06. :dancingbanana:

I've actually never seen such a wealth of information on red squirrel defense, so I guess you are right.

I watched the documentary "Ice Age, The Meltdown" last week. My lord! I'm glad I never had to face a saber-tooth squirrel before. :eek: :eek: :D
 
Those two rifles are so close that it sounds almost incestuous...

It would be quite amazing if it did in fact shoot better than your Tikka. That is one heck of an accurate rifle.

I just got an email from Canada Post that my 270 has shipped, but let's not tell anyone else that reads this thread - OK?

I think SC has it nailed here. Its quite usefull to compare any cartridge to the gurly-gun 270 winchester and go from there :)
