.270 vs 30-06

And he was right. .270 for me..... Although I also own a 30-06 but it's my loaner rifle.....
Like 'em both. Own them both. 30-06 kicks a little harder but Newtons third law dictates as such.
The 30-06 does have a broader bullet selection, but for the most part - we find our pet loads for the 150 / 165 / or 180 gr bullets (whatever) and seldom stray. I have a prestine box of 160 gr noslers for my .270, but can't be bothered because it like's 140's.
Do you like the Granny Smith apple, or the Red Delicious? Pretty much the same, eh?

Correct...they are one of the same...virtually identical in a chosen application. the differences are not dramatic enough to say one is by far better then the other.
Any firearm chambered in either caliber has it's own quirks and characteristics.
The choice of which is better comes down to personal preference and experience.
Good suggest, as above, is to get one of each and enjoy them!!!!
