270 will work fine on moose. So will a 308. All that is needed is a decent bullet and good shot placement.

Moose are not difficult to kill. My grandfather shot 2 each year for over 50 years with a 30-30 rifle. (One for the family and one for the local orphanage). Only one moose needed a second shot. He shot them in the head.
I second the suggestion of trying a 130 and 150 partition and seeing which groups best. And I snuggest you do the same with a 150 and a 165 in your 308.
