270 wsm, a good all around caliber for moose and deer?

Lots of people use BTs for hunting. A slower velocity may help reduce fragmentation.

.

I agree that lower velocities with a BT would be fine I'm sure, but I wouldnt want to make a raking shot on a moose or elk with a BT at over 3000fps like the 270 wsm is more than capable of.

Sure it does fly, there are MORE for 7mm, but there is still lots for .270 . Just easier to find the more specialized bullets in 7mm, but from what I have been reading there will be more .270 bullets coming out all the time.

As for it's effectiveness on game, if you can hit your target, it will work, just like most others.;)

Wrong!

There's a GREAT selection of .277" bullets out there for any deer or moose hunter. More than enough. You're argument doesn't fly.

I would use a Barnes TSX for that WSM. I use the 130 BT in my boring old 270 win.....I got complete pass throughts at 100 yards on deer. MV was about 3000 fps.
