the 30-06 is really for old people that don't know any better and can't change ..get the 270 wsm ...flatter , better bc, shorter action and new..
I disagree about a better B.C., I dont think the .270 has anything on .30 cal, with the 200 grain bullets topping out over .550 in .308 calibres
Also, check to make sure you buy a gun that really does have a action to suit its calibre. My first wsm was a browning a-bolt that did not have a short action, just shot .300 wsm. Also, you couldnt put the bullet on the lands without making it to long for the magazine..
I am sold that the wsm cartriges burn powder more effeciently and consistantly. That makes for a more inherently accurate cartridge, not bullet.
Also, by my calculations a 150 grain sierra game king needs a 1 in 9 twist for the bullet to be stabilized.
