I am looking for a bullet for my 270WSM when I start reloading in the near future.

What would the ideal bullet be for both moose and deer? Keep in mind my gun doesnt like anything bigger then 140gr in factory loads.

I could always go with a premier bonded bullet (XP3 etc) but im looking for something that opens a little faster to allow suitable expansion on deer but will still hold togeather enough for moose.

Partitions. Because the front of the bullet shears off pretty easily it will kill a deer, and because the back of the bullet doesn't expand as quick it will drive deep.

The accubond is supposed to do roughly the same thing, so those would probably work too.

i have the 270wsm and i love it for both ,the partition's and accubond are great if you go with barnes make sure your barrel has the right rate of twist's or you will get keyholes, like i do ,ihave a browning blr twist rate 1in9 and you need 1in10 aleast too get them too fly strait is what i've been told.good luck with reloading it's fun just don't cheap out when you buy the gear cause you only wanna buy it once .

barnes tsx, i am no expert but have talked to 3, all independent of each other and that is their reply, used to be barnes x but I think they have been replaced with the tsx, sure they foul your barrel but that's easy to deal with.

The OP mentioned the XP3 bullets. Those things are deadly on deer, sure they go right through but the ones ive seen shot with them were one soupy mess inside. I'd advise going with something that duplicates XP3 performance as closely as possible.
PS I use Nosler Accubonds (moose) and Ballistic Tips (deer) in my 308, you can use the same load for those two bullets and they will shoot to the same point of impact. Try it in your gun before you trust it though.

You can't beat hornady SST 140 's they will do the job on killing and accuracy and you will
have some money left for practicing also good luck .

I'm using 140 gr Barnes TSX , moly coated , pushed by 7828 SSC , 3300 fps and they open up on everything from whitetail to moose from personal experience
