A great caliber finished just in time for the hunting season ...

Now what should be on there for a scope?
My preference would be a 3.5 x 10 Leupold...

I love a 280, or a 280 AI. However, who is still making 280's? I know Cooper and Kimber are but what about the usuals (Rem, Ruger, Win, etc)

nice looking rifle guntech... great cal too... gotta love those 7 mm projo's.. the 3.5 x 10 would be a great choice of optic but my personal pick would be a 4.5 x 14 Mark 4 target turrets, mil-dot ret and side focus

Nice rifle. Looks alot like the 270Win we talked about. Just waiting for Ted to do the bbl. The Edge will take a bit longer, I think.

I'm putting a 2.5x8 Leupold on mine.

Is that a factory contour bbl? How does it handle? I'm wondering if the bbl coupled with the lightweight Edge stock will make it front heavy.

Without the scope on it, it is slightly front heavy... which is a good thing as far as I am concerned... the barrel is not a lightweight... it is heavier than a standard 700 BDL 30-06 barrel. Smaller at the muzzle but more weight within the forend area.

Looks good. I've seen 26" rifles that had EDGE stocks and still balanced on the front screw or the lug...

good looking rifle, but I question the ring and barrel choices with that stock? seems an odd mix, like putting a spoiler on a pick-up truck....

If you were blindfolded and he handed you that Custom and an SPS, you'd definitely know the difference...:)

I too wondered why the LW stock with the med contour barrel, but the more I thought about it, it makes sense. The medium weight barrel would be stiffer, hold POI better, and dissipate heat better than a lightweight barrel, and the graphite stock keeps the overall weight manageable.
