You hit

I love this time of year - all of the knot (heads) fall out of the woodwork.
No-wonder I quit hunting.

QUOTE]

the nail on the head. I have not quit yet but am not far from it. The only thing that keeps me going is the 3/4's that my father and brother own.

Just go to the local ranges and see them out there just B4 hunting. They also know it all.:slap::slap::runaway::runaway:

This whole thing is a joke right???????

You think being a Brinks employee your not a civilian?

Uhhh...

Go read that again. He's quoting someone that should have kept their mouth shut rather than remove any doubt as to his status.

My read of it, is that the aforementioned party, maker of the statement in the quotes, was both a PAL instructor, and a Brinks employee, though he probably should have been neither.

:D

PM me for a recipe that will make those whooping cranes taste like bald eagle!:D

Kidding! Everyone relax!!:runaway:

Shiat! We don't eat the stinking things! Toss 'em in the bin with the Vancouver Island Marmots, Piping Plovers, Eskimo Curlews and Peregrine Falcons. Let 'em stew for a few months and drop the sludge off in a gulley to shoot coyotes over.

Hey Sjemac, i know where there is some burrowing owls, wanna hit them this spring, we can just work em in with the gophers and it will look natural. LOL

Back to the OP. If your dad taught you to spell, i have no doubt why the the pair of you has trouble reading the regs, seems that adult literacy is still absent in a few pockets of our nation.

4 or 5" is that what this is really about seriously????? What a dumb law it should be plain either antlerless or not I would definately fight that charge. Now if they are talking about being charged for anything else I don't know

Our tags(other than general) are listed as either antlered or antlerless tags. The 4" is meant to give a person leeway if the deer has very small spikes that you could not normally see.If you only have an antlerless tag, don't shoot any deer that you can see antlers on,and you won't have any issues. If you can see antlers, and shoot anyways,be prepared to be charged if the antlers are over 4".

I don't get it, they made a rule for people who are to lazy to look closely before they shoot?? I will not shoot unless I am sure the target is legal game.

well now there are situations where you may find you can't see the nubs.

shot a calf moose and it had 1" buttons, now would that be a bull because it had little antlers or just a big calf.

I think 4" is a good rule, in the bush it can be hard to make out if its antlers or a stick, now once you get antlers longer then a few inches it gets easier to see.

the 4" rule is just an easy way for the CO to give you the benifit of the doubt.

Now in the case here, Post #1, had the shooter actually had a tag in his posession then there would be no fine, but since he did not posess the proper tag to shoot an antlered deer he got what he deserved, perhaps he will learn that buying a tag is a lot less expensive then not having one.

Now if I was close I would make a sport of going out with the proper tags and shooting the robo deer decoy, following all the rules and regulations, then insisting on tagging it and taking it home :D
