2nd Annual Summerland LR Fun Shoot APRIL 14 - 15

Pub sounds like a nice plan, like everything else need directions. As far as a dinner goes either works for me. I booked another day off so should be in Summerland on Friday Afternoon. Leaving here on Thursday and will probably overnight in Sylvan Lake or Rockymountain House depending on how it goes.

Rain or shine looking forward to shooting with all of you.

This falls on the weekend of the fest of Ale. Think about it a conventon center packed with food and Beer. And Lots of Beer. OH yeh also the Penticton Gun show is the same weekend. Which is in the same complex as the fest of ale. Different building same complex. So we have guns and beer weekend. Should be interesting.

Well, went out LR plinking on Friday. Shot my 6.5 Mystic at 1000m and the Stevens 223 from 500 to 900yds. Was a hoot with light gusty winds. I hope the conditions will be like this in a couple of weeks.

LRC, there is a great shooting area for your boomers. Large rock field (rock slide) on the side of a mountain. Lots of targets.

Hope you got elevation cause this 'target' is 1950m away.

Looks like we will be able to set up in one location and shoot from 500yds to 2150yds.

Jerry

It's confirmed I'm coming. I was able to get out shooting this last weekend and found my load. I will still have to maybe shoot one more time if I get a chance to zero @ 500yds but if not LRC can spot for me.

We have had a few cancellations so there is room for another 4+ shooters.

Let me know if you are coming.

For those that are coming, I figure dinner at the pub on Sat will be the easiest. Please post or send me a PM that you will be there so that I can make reservations. how about 6pm to meet?

The pub is just off the highway so easy to find. About 1 block away from the Rosedale Motel.

Two more weeks and the projected weather is for sunny but cooler temps. Looking good so far.

Jerry

With the Easter weekend fast approaching, I thought I would make a final post.

EVERYONE that is attending, please send me a PM with a list of gear you are bringing and vehicle type (if you need a ride). Yes, even if you have recently been chatting with me, I would appreciate another concise one.

So far, no one has confirmed Sat. dinner at the pub. If I don't hear from people by next week, I will just leave it and we will wing dinner afterwards.

I am compiling gear and names so I know what we have. Also, to ensure that no one gets missed when we leave Summerland. We will leave promptly if possible.

Please PM me by TUESDAY to give us time to adjust if necessary. I am pretty sure that we got the bases covered but the last few days have seen several changes.

Enjoy the Easter weekend. Load up the gear, ammo, optics and rifles (I load up in this order so I don't forget anything).

See you next Saturday. Can't meet up on Friday night but there are several out of towners that might want to get together that evening.

Jerry

Directions to the High School:

If coming from the Connector, turn right at the lights with the petro can/Esso. Follow the road as it bends going past the Legion and Peacocks Pearch (location for dinner Sat night). You are now on Rosedale ave.

Follow that for about 1km and you will see the Shell gas station and school on your right.

If coming from the Penticton side, Turn left at the first lights up Summerland hill (McDonalds/Tim Hortons/shopping mall on left). Follow to the 4 way, turn right and the shell is on your left.

Here is a link for some local weather. Hope the weather stays good. Presently snowing in the hills across the lake. That ground hog got it wrong this year. Bring rain gear just in case.

Speaking of Ground Hogs, there is a ground hog looking rock/stump/not sure what at 950yds. Will make for a fun target.

Making reservations at the pub for Sat night dinner.

There are a few guys getting in on Friday. LRC and DangerDeb will be at the Rosedale so if you all want to get together for a chat, give LRC a shout. I will not be able to make it.

Last minute questions, ideas, or suggestions, please PM or post here.

To everyone traveling, have a safe journey and see you all 8:15 at the high school Saturday am.

Jerry

Sorry Jerry, I can't make it now. I am overloaded with work that I can't leave behind... I even worked easter weekend to try to catch up.

My appologies once again.
