That looks really good.
"Outlaw" is not a negative term or, have any bearing on legitimacy.
I use the term just so new competitors realize that our club is not affiliated with any organized 3 gun body and that we have our own rules and scoring system.
Also, nice work on the scatter gun. I was too nervous the first time I did one to use a grinder and filed it down by hand... now, straight to the power tools.
That looks really good.
Does your finger get stuck in that opening on the lifter? Looks clean to me
It depends on who is using the term, and having your own rules and scoring system does make you an "organized 3 gun body". Don't sell yourself short.
In the absence of a premier national organizing body, I think the 3gun match with the most entries becomes the de facto nationals.
To my knowledge the biggest ones in the West half the country in 2017 will be the Redneck and Prairie Fire. I think Redneck 2016 had about 100 entries, and Prairie Fire is new but set up to handle up to 200. Not sure what the biggest in the East is.
What are the rules for safety selectors on shotguns generally? I know safety has to be engaged to ground the gun. What about during reloading etc?
Depends who's running the match...
At BRM3G dumping a gun "safe" meant either it was empty or simply had the safety engaged.
And as far as when rifle/shotgun is in use, safety engagement doesn't matter? ie for reloads. As long as it's engaged when you dump the gun?
Okay great. The AR is no problem to manipulate the safety but the crossbolt on my shotgun is slow and awkward to engage.
