7mm rem mag
The perfect complement to the 7mm rem mag is maple syrup and walnuts.
7mm rem mag
.375 H&H. The .30/06 covers too much of the middle ground. 7mm mag is too similar, just a slightly smaller, slightly faster, '06.
To compliment a 30-06, I'd go 35 Whelan or 338 winmag.
Down it would be 25-06 or 257 Robert's
300 Win Mag with a 215 Berger. I disagree that the 300WM is virtually identical in real world utility as you put it. My custom 300 Win Mag drives a 215 berger right at 3000 fps. Show me a 30-06 that will come close to running with that.
Hi there,
I currently own a 30-06 Browning X-Bolt topped with a 4-12 Nikon Monarch and a 6.5x55 Mauser 96 topped with a 4x Fixed scope. While the 6.5x55 is alright and shoots 1.5moa, I always seem to reach out for the 30-06 since I often hike out in bear country and because it's more accurate.
I live in an area where I could draw a Grizzly/Bison tag. I am however more of a deer person and longish shots are common here. (200-400yards)
I've been toying with the idea of getting a second browning X-Bolt as a second rifle. I'm just not sure what caliber would complement the 30-06 well.
GMC403, you forgot to mention he also needs a 35 Whelen, cheers
