I was shooting my deer rifle today and it seems to like IMR4831 and
I like it because the recoil is low. I was shooting at 25, 50, and 100 yards. 100 yards I can get less than 2” groups if I don’t shoot too fast and heat up the barrel. At 25 and 50 yards it’s under an inch so the thick bush I shoot it works well.
For my fire arm 53.0 grains of IMR4831 works the best.
It is no wonder that your IMR 4831 load kicks less....I would be willing to bet the farm that you are
sending those 180's out at 300 Savage velocities.

This means low recoil levels.
