30-06 loads....list them!

I was able to get my hands on 1000 180gn Sierra flat base to put together some generic loads for the 3 or 4 30-06s that I'm too lazy to work up loads for. I have test loads for my 75th Anniversary Winchester SG, but for the rest I wanted a generic load so I went with an old load that I found to work in virtually every '06 I have tried them in.

W-W cases
CCI 200 primers
56 gns IMR 4350
180 Sierra FB
COAL 3.225

Loaded up 250 a few days back, I'll have to try them out when it quits snowing..............

Tested some 165gr Accubonds different powders Rem 700 22" barrel

Some results of testing different powders in 30.06 most loads under max load

Things have changed over the years....in the old books this isn't even a max load, in some of the newer books this is over max.....I've been going 56.5 of IMR-4350 with 180 hornady's.

180 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip over 60 grains Reloder 22 in a Winchester case lit with a WLR primer.

Good for deer to moose and punches pretty little groups in paper if shot in a halfway decent rifle.

180 grn soft point, sierra or hornady or swift scirroco 57 grns imr 4350 fed 215 primer in a win case. has worked in a few different 30 06 rifles.

Yes, BMI is well aware of stiffer loads of IMR 4350 in the 30-06.
In the various 30-06 rifles I have tested it in, 56 grains of 4350 with 180 grain bullets gave me about 2600 fps.
57 grains would give a bit short of what the 30-06 was designed for, 2700 fps.
Norma 204 is, as far as I am concerned, interchangeable with IMR4350, but Norma is denser, meaning more will go in the case. 59 grains of Norma 204 will give a 180 grain bullet an average of about 2810 in the rifles I have tried it in, with completely safe pressure.
But don't anyone try this load, unless they carefully work up the load, to make sure it is safe in their rifle.

One of my 30-06s likes 56.5 grains of H4350 and either a 180 Woodleigh or 180 SST. That's one grain under Hodgdons, but the velocity is at 2850 fps in the 26" Benchmark barrel I'm just going to leave well enough alone.

57 gr H4350, Fed 210M, RP case, 168 TTSX - 2950 fps
49 gr IMR 4064, Fed 210, RP case, 165 Swift Scirocco - 2840 fps
59 gr RL 19, Fed 210, RP case, 180 NP - 2775 fps
53.5 gr IMR4350, Fed 210M, RP case, 200 NP - 2600 fps

24" barrel, HVA 1640 - all are MOA or better

50 gr IMR4064, CCI 200, FC case, 165gr Hornady BTSP - 2800fps.

I'm constantly blown away at how accurate this load is (22" M70 EW)
