I think both are a tad light, maybe for small whitetail you could get away with either, but for moose, you will need something at the minimum a .375 of some type, that is about the starting size for a moose rifle. 
Seriously though this is like debating which vehicle will carry a gallon of milk better. They all will do it, it is just the style in which you get there.The 30-06 has more numbers the 7mm says "magnum". That is the only difference I see, either one will do just fine, go for the most comfortable rifle for you no matter WHAT the caliber choice.
